Summer Substitute as Treatment Assistant

The Dependency Unit

The Residential Social Group is part of the performing activities of the dependency unit, which belongs to social services and is a residence with 27 places in Visby for adults with dependencies to alcohol, other drugs, and gambling.

The area of responsibility also includes work with clients in training apartments across Gotland. The operations are conducted on behalf of, and in collaboration with, the caseworkers of the dependency care. Here, eight treatment assistants work, and the daily work is led by a coordinator. The staff group has extensive experience and good knowledge in the field.

We are now looking for summer substitutes

We are now looking for summer substitutes who, after an introduction together with regular staff, will be responsible for the operations during the summer. The work is free under responsibility, varied, and provides a good insight into dependency care in Gotland.

Your tasks

The work is carried out in close collaboration with alcohol and drug counseling, MiniMaria, and the caseworker group of the dependency unit. Another important partner is the psychiatric clinic in Visby. As a treatment assistant, you are part of Region Gotland's integrated substance abuse and dependency care.

A treatment assistant in the residential social group of the dependency unit works to coordinate efforts based on the clients' needs. The work is guided by a care plan made together with clients and caseworkers. The work involves close contact with clients both at home and in our residence. The work requires good organizational and planning skills. We work with contact person responsibility, which means that each employee is responsible for planning for a number of clients.

Who are you?

We see that you are, or studying to be, a social pedagogue, social worker, psychiatric care assistant, or similar. The work requires a B driver's license.

We are looking for someone with previous experience working with individuals with dependency issues and/or mental disorders.

As a person, you should be calm and secure with a good ability to handle conflicts. You need to be independent and able to make quick decisions and enjoy collaboration both in groups and with our partners. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
